AFN Contributes to Article on Football Clubs and Asian Fans

AFN Director contributes to a Journal article exploring ‘How can professional football clubs create welcoming and inclusive stadia for British Asian fans?’ in the Journal of Policy Research in Tourism, Leisure and Events by Daniel Burdsey, Chelsea School of Sport, University of Brighton & Kuljit Randhawa, the Asian Football Network.

THe Asian Football Network/Premier League research project on British Asian football fans undertaken a few years ago resulted in the most extensive research into the experiences, trends and challenges faced by the British Asian supporters attending live football matches.

The research project conducted interviews with a large number of people to reflect different experiences and viewpoints. The published article collates and builds upon the central findings of the research and seeks to demonstrate key ideas that will form the basis of more appropriate and effective policies to tackle the inherent issues.
